Despite the fact that there is a couple of major football competitions taking place this summer, the wheel that the transfer window finds itself on continues to spin and continues to churn out a number of huge stories.
Of course, with the way that the transfer window works, it can be rather difficult trying to work out what is fact and what is fiction, but there is certainly a topic of discussion that will always arrive from it.
Manchester City are in the thick of the rumours this summer, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish – both whom are representing England at the UEFA 2020 European Championships and have been favourites with those looking to use a Big Free Bet on the competition – having both been rumoured to be linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
One report, though, has claimed that Grealish will be a City player sooner than later after an £88 million transfer fee was agreed last season. CaughtOffside have made the claim in their exclusive, but interestingly, they have also announced that the Citizens could be looking to shift a couple of attacking options this summer, as well.
Further down the report, it is claimed that Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling could both potentially depart the Premier League champions this summer, with Pep Guardiola’s team said to be ready to listen to serious offers for the pair if the England international is to arrive at the club following the Euro 2020 Championships.
Naturally, the move would make sense as the club are already packed with attacking options, whilst there will be some in the City faithful that will feel it needs to happen as they have grown concerned with what they have seen with the individuals mentioned.
It is no hidden secret that Sterling has struggled recently – despite having scored the only goals for England this summer – with Guardiola seemingly having turned to other players such as Ferran Torres or even Mahrez instead.
The England international has even suggested he would need to discuss his future after he became dissatisfied with his place in the squad at times as he found himself on the bench a lot more than he would have liked.
Mahrez, though, would be the biggest departure as the Algeria international appeared to be a big part of Guardiola’s side. However, with Grealish said to be arriving, the former Leicester City winger might have no choice but to seek pastures new this summer.
